Focused on emissions and energy management, TecnoVeritas has a strong track record of delivering solutions, combining innovation and knowledge.

TecnoVeritas manufactures and supplies world class power and energy management solutions that can be tailored to the needs of a client. The company also has a wide range of advanced engineering capabilities & specialised services, being certified with ISO 9001.

TIER III COMPLIANCE – VESSELS ENVIRONMENTAL REVAMPING – SCR SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION

Figure 1 - M/V Vasco da Gama, one of the successful projects of SCR system installation.TecnoVeritas is a specialised provider of SCR (Selective Catalytic Reactor) system. The implementation of SCR system on vessels’ engines allows ships to reach NOx emissions levels below TIER III, therefore ensuring that the vessel can travel even on areas with the stricter environmental regulations. This is a great example of Circular Economy applied to the Shipping sector, as the environmental revamping of ships allows to give a new life to existing ships and reduce the impact of scrapping.

SHIPPING DIGITALISATION – CLOUD-BASED PLATFORM FOR SHIP PERFORMANCE OPTIMISATION

Figure 2 - BOEM dashboardTecnoVeritas developed a cloud-based platform called BOEM. The platform allows the digitalisation of ships processes such as the monitoring of ship performance (energy and emissions), but also Maintenance Management, Documentation, Purchasing, Budgeting, Drydocking, Reporting, etc.

The platform is based on Artificial Intelligence, as the quantity of data and its treatment and interpretation need to be automated and results readily available to take corrective actions when necessary. Recently, the platform received the Type Approval Certification by Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore.

SHAFT POWER METER – KNOW, MONITOR & PREDICT THE PROPULSION SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Figure 3 - Optipower installed on board of a ship.Optipower is a shaft power, torque and thrust meter, that can identify and segregate where the inefficiencies are, by defining and monitoring some Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Although a variety of KPI can be used to improve ship propulsion system performance, none is as direct, and produces such a direct correlation, as the complementary use of shaft power, torque and thrust meter, allowing the complete understanding where performance inefficiencies are, to optimize the energy efficiency of the ship, including savings of up to 5% of fuel.

EEXI, EEDI, SEEMP AND ENERGY AUDITS FOR SHIPS

TecnoVeritas provides energy audits for ships, SEEMP, EEDI and EEXI services. Fuel accounts typically between 35 and 65% of ship’s total operating costs. Nowadays, energy optimisation is playing a vital role in the market dominated by increasing fuel prices and environmental awareness.

The identification of energy saving opportunities results in a decrease in fuel costs and emissions. It also reduces the vessel systems downtime, which increases the vessel availability.

But how to determine these saving opportunities? That’s where TecnoVeritas step in, offering a range of ship energy services, customizable accordingly to the client’s needs.

MRV SERVICES – VALIDATE MONITORING PLANS & VERIFY EMISSIONS REPORT

TecnoVeritas is accredited by IPAC as an independent verifier for MRV activities, according to ISO 14065.

EU MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) is a legislation created by the European Council that has the goal of implementing restrictions to Green House Gases (GHG) emissions to maritime means of transportation, specifically CO2, considered the most hazardous gas among them.

Its target obligates shipowners to monitor, report and verify CO2 emissions, fuel consumptions and transport work of ships.

SEA TRIALS

Sea trials are usually performed on the last phase of a ship construction or if an existent ship suffers modifications that can affect its performance and safety. It is meant to test exhaustively the several systems of the vessel, and it can last days until all the tests are performed, occurring usually in deep open waters.

The main purpose of sea trials is to measure a ship’s performance (proper operation of the main and auxiliary machinery, including monitoring, alarm and safety systems) and seaworthiness, under realistic conditions. If the ship successfully passes the tests it is awarded a certification for commissioning and acceptance.

TecnoVeritas has a wide experience on performing Sea Trials for all ships types.
