Star Cruises signs deal with MHG Medical Management Services

MHG Medical Management Services has been appointed by Star Cruises (HK) to provide medical consulting and project development services.

"MHG Medical completed a substantial project for Star Cruises in 2013 and, we are pleased to extend the association," said Captain Havard Ramsoy, vice-president nautical pperations, Star Cruises (HK). "We are looking forward to further collaboration with the MHG Medical team and the resulting enhancements to our medical operation".

Star Cruises is the leading cruise line in Asia-Pacific, catering to Asian travelers as well as North American, Australian, European and British cruisers. Star Cruises has commissioned the construction of two mega vessels of approximately 150,000t, to be delivered in 2016 and 2017.

These will be the largest ships home ported in Asia and the largest under the Star Cruises brand.

"We are happy to be asked to provide further support to Star Cruises, following the completion of our assignment for them last year," said Peter Hult, president of MHG Medical. "The services we will be providing will include developing medical policies and procedures, creating standardised formularies and revising the Outbreak and Response Plan for Star Cruises' existing fleet in addition to consulting on the medical centre design and providing recommendations for essential equipment for the new builds during the construction phase".
